CONCEPT

How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying

It all takes place inside the World Wide Company Inc. building on Park Avenue, spaces like the lobby, reception, elevator, executive offices, and secretarial desks. Through colorful characters, catchy songs, and humor, the show satirizes the culture of ambition and success in the business world. Set in early 1960s Manhattan, my design draws heavily from the aesthetics of the time. I looked to figures likeCharles and Ray Eames and Eero Saarinen for inspiration as clean geometry, innovative materials, and a balance of function and style. I also embraced the era’s fascination with outer space: futuristic shapes, shiny surfaces, and a playful yet sophisticated feel. Colors, textures, and materials reflect the show's core themes: power, money, and success, highlighting the absurd chase for status within the corporate machine.
